Admin Tools and Joomla! 2.5 updates

If you are using Admin Tools to update Joomla! 2.5 to the latest release you will experience two problems:

  • The Joomla! version is shown multiple times in the back-end. Go to Extensions, Manage Modules, select Administrator and remove the multiple copies of the Joomla! Version module. Only leave one copy.
  • Your text filter settings are gone. Go to Global Configuration, text filters, reset your prefered settings and click on Save & Close.

These issues occur because Admin Tools erroneously executes Joomla! update SQL files multiple times. This is a known issue. Please do not file support requests regarding those issues. Having to answer to your requests does not tell us anything we don't know and reduces the time we have available to find a potential solution.

Our suggestion at this time is to NOT use Admin Tools to upgrade from Joomla! 2.5.0, 2.5.1 or 2.5.2 to Joomla! 2.5.3.
