Admin Tools 7.6.0 Stable

Released on: 2024-08-28 01:22 CDT

What's new?

Reset Joomla! Update feature from the backend, the CLI, or a Scheduled Task. This feature allows you to completely reset Joomla Update to factory defaults, even resetting the TUF (secure update) metadata on Joomla! 5.1 and later versions. This feature should be used as your last resort, when Joomla! Update is completely broken and no matter of manual intervention seems to have any effect on it. Please do read the documentation!

PHP File Change Scanner will now strip comments before evaluating the Threat Score. This gives a more reliable threat score in some cases where nested PHP comments are used to obscure the nature of the code inside the file.

Possible Threat files do not count towards modified files. In the past, unmodified files with a non-zero threat score counted towards the count of modified files in the scans overview. This was a bit confusing, especially since we had introduced a separate column for suspicious files years ago. The modified files column will now only contain the number of files modified since the last scan. Please note that the number of suspicious files includes all files with a non-zero Threat Score which have not been explicitly marked safe, regardless of whether they are modified since the last scan or not.

Rewritten WAF request block to better handle concurrent attacks. The suspicious / malicious request blocker in the Web Appication Firewall now tries to obtain a database lock to improve the consistency of its behaviour during heavily parallel / concurrent attacks. The offending IP will be blocked at around the number of requests you have specified in the IP Auto-ban tab of the Web Application Firewall. In reality, this number will be a bit bigger, with the number of additional hits being the number of PHP threads concurrently processed by your server (typically in the range of 3 to 12) due to the way PHP and database servers work.

Joomla! 5 display improvements. Joomla! 5.1 made changes to the backend CSS, changing how Bootstrap works especially in Dark Mode. We are now supplying a workaround CSS file which is loaded only under Joomla! 5.1 or later to work around the visual issues introduced by these changes.
