Requires Joomla 4.2 and PHP 7.4 or later. We have dropped support for earlier versions of Joomla and PHP to do the preliminary work necessary for compatibility with Joomla 5.0, with a target release date of October 2023. According to our collected usage statistics Joomla 4.0, 4.1 and PHP versions 7.2, 7.3 make up for less than 1.5% of our users.
Removed PHP version warnings. This is now included in Joomla itself.. Nearly 8 years ago we started displaying warnings about your PHP version when it was entering maintenance mode (only security updates issued for one year) and when it was about to become or had already become End of Life (no updates, not even for security). To our delight, this helped our clients plan for PHP upgrades and resulted in their sites using recent, actively maintained PHP versions. Starting with Joomla 3.7, the Joomla project itself started doing the same, having seen the overwhelmingly positive impact these warnings had to our mutual users. In Joomla 3.10 and beyond Joomla's warnings about PHP versions are essentially identical to ours. Therefore, there is no longer a reason for us to include these warnings in our software.
Microsoft Exchange support. We added support for Microsoft Exchange email accounts when using Microsoft 365. Please note that this refers to the online, subscription email product, not email accounts in the similarly-named, self-hosted Microsoft Exchange server product — the latter have always been supported using plain old SMTP and IMAP. Yes, we know that this is confusing; please tell Microsoft and their marketing department which reuses the same name for entirely different products.
"Please wait" message when submitting a ticket or reply. In some cases sending a ticket may take a while, e.g. when there is a slow connection, the server is busy, or there are simply lots of fairly big attachments to upload. Users could get impatient and try to submit the ticket or reply multiple times. The message acts as a reminder that something is happening and they shouldn't try to re-submit their ticket or reply.
Latest open tickets view: choose whether to show assigned, not assigned, or any assignment status tickets.. This feature is meant for organisations where there is a separate role for ticket triaging which combs through new tickets and assigns them to support staff that has the time and knowledge to help with. The ticket triage role people can now display only non-assigned tickets they need to triage instead of going through a very long list of tickets, risking missing something important.
Bug fixes and minor improvements. Please take a look at the CHANGELOG below.
Please consult our Compatibility page. It explains our version support policy and lists which versions of our software are compatible with which versions of Joomla and PHP.
